About Valley Medical Primary Care
At Valley Medical Primary Care we strive to deliver excellent patient care with compassion. Your health is our number one priority. We are pleased that you have chosen us for your primary medical care needs. We have three physicans and two nurse practitioners who are assisted by the office staff including medical assistants and receptionists etc. who all work as a team to accomodate your medical needs.

Meenakshi Patel, MD, FACP, MMM
Dr. Meenakshi Patel has been in practice in the Dayton area since 1987 as a board certified internist and geriatrician. She is the Medical Director of several nursing homes and is also Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine. Dr. Patel also serves as the Director of Geriatrics Medicine Program at the Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton Ohio.
Dr. Patel is very actively involved in research in several areas pertaining to the geriatric population, especially with regards to Alzheimer’s Dementia. She speaks nationally on various topics related to geriatric care at national symposiums, including the American Medical Directors’ Association. She is also Associate Medical Director with the Hospice of Dayton.

Anton Vasiliu, MD, CMD
Dr. Vasiliu is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a special interest in geriatrics. He has been serving the Dayton area since 1992 as an Internist and Geriatrician. He is the Medical Director at several nursing homes in Dayton area and also serves with Dr. Patel as Co-medical Director of Geriatrics Medicine Program at the Miami Valley Hospital. He is Associate Medical Director with the Hospice of Dayton.
Dr. Vasiliu is Clinical Assistant Professor at Wright State University and is involved in teaching medical students and also provides medical services to General Motors and Chrysler executives.

Gurjeet Kahlon, MD, CMD
Dr. Kahlon is board certified internist and geriatrician by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has been serving the Dayton community since 2003.
He is a certified Medical Director for long term care by the American Medical Directors Association and serves as the Medical Director at several area nursing homes. He is also Associate Medical Director with the Hospice of Dayton.
He is also Assistant Professor at the Wright State University and is involved in teaching of the medical students. He has staff privileges at the Miami Valley Hospital, Kettering Medical Center Network and the Greene Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Kahlon did his residency training in internal medicine and then fellowship in geriatric medicine at Albany Medical Center, Albany N.Y. Before joining private practice, he worked as an attending physician in Geriatrics section at the V.A. Medical Center in Dayton.

Coca Anghelache, CNP
Coca Anghelache is a board certified Nurse Practitioner who joined Valley Medical Primary Care in November, 2009. She has been a Dayton area resident since 2000. She completed her undergraduate work at University of St. Francis in Illinois where she obtained a Bachelor Degree of Science in Nursing. She obtained her Masters Degree at Wright State University, Dayton Ohio.
Her areas of special interest include critical care and geriatrics medicine. For the last five years, she used her expertise in direct patient care, infection control, and family management programs in the Intensive Care Unit at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She is nationally certified in critical care. However, dedicating her career to geriatric patients is her true passion. She sees residents at long-term care facilities in the Dayton area such as Walnut Creek, St. Leonard, Bethany Village and Wood Glen Alzheimer’s community.
Coca is a member of The American Association of Nurse Practitioners and The American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She has also been inducted in the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. Her hobbies include reading, photography, and biking. She also enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephews.

Tamme Hafer, CNP
Tamme Hafer joined the Valley Medical Primary care in January 2010. She has worked in the Dayton area for her entire professional career in positions ranging from cardiology staff nurse to hospital president. In addition, she has been adjunct faculty for two of the area colleges.
She obtained her bachelor's degree from Kent State University and two master's degrees-both from Wright State University. She is nationally certified as a family nurse practitioner and has special interest in geriatric medicine. She has published and spoken both locally and nationally on cardiology topics.
She has served on several voluntary and professional society boards. She was a board member for the Dayton area chapter of the American Heart Association for six years and chaired the Heart Ball in 2000.
